October seems to have come and gone in a flash! One minute we're putting up pumpkins and dressing up, and before you know it we're getting ready for the ever so quickly approaching Christmas season! Spoiler alert: I'm sooooo excited for the holidays this year!
Although Halloween didn't pan out as I had planned, Bonnie and I still managed to have a good time making our first batch of caramel candy apples. Our kitchen was a wreck, and there was caramel literally EVERYWHERE, but the laughs and giggles made it all worth it. I followed this recipe for the caramel apples, and although they turned out pretty good, I think I might tweak a couple things next time, like quickly washing the apples in hot water to take the wax off (it makes the caramel stick better).
A few months ago I let Bonnie pick out her costume. It came down to either a cupcake or a donut. She excitedly picked the donut. After being super excited about her milk and donut costume, when it came time to dress up Bonnie had a complete melt down and wanted NOTHING.to.do.with.it. Needless to say, we called it an early night, had a really nice family dinner outside and followed our family tradition of snuggling up to a Halloween movie for the rest of the night :).
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen we visited Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland last week. This was the first Halloween we all really dressed up for since Bonnie was born. We kept it really low key but still fun. We went with my sister and brother-in-law who dressed up in Star Trek costumes, it was so much fun! Even though the day was gloomy and rainy we still managed to enjoy ourselves and walk away with bags full of candy, bonus!
Hope you all had a sweet, safe and wonderful Halloween!
