Gender Neutral Unicorn Baby Shower

Unicorn Baby Shower Gender Neutral

Earlier this year when we found out we were expecting, Justin and I agreed on not finding out the sex of the baby until our due date (!!!!). Of course I was skeptical at first, but after warming up to the idea of keeping it a surprise until the end, I have to admit it has added a whole other level of excitement for us in this incredible journey. We've had mixed reactions whenever friends or family ask us about the sex of the baby, but it has all been part of the fun. At the end of the day it truly doesn't matter if it's a boy or girl, so long as he or she is healthy and well.

That being said, planning for all things gender neutral has not been as hard as people think it is; there are so many options out there nowadays! Be it mixed patterns or color palettes of gray, mint, or yellow, there is definitely a variety of options to play around with. Since our families are divided on what they think the sex of the baby will be, our moms incorporated that into the palette by incorporating both pink and blue.

When they asked us what kinds of things we would have liked at the shower my answer was simple: brunch with unicorns (two of my favorite things), which of course raised some eyebrows. My husband's request, however, was more attainable: shrimp and grits (you'd never guess he was raised in the south, would you?). When our moms came together to plan the shower, the result was more wonderful than anything we could have ever hoped for.

How adorable is this diaper cake?!!
Leave it to my brother-in-law to make sure all home decor was pertinent with the theme.

We are so thankful for all the hard work and love that went into making this celebration so special for us and Baby T. We really couldn't have asked for more. We are so grateful to be blessed with such wonderful love and warmth from our family and friends back home.

Stay Sweet!
